According to the New York Times, Meet the Press host Tim Russert died of a heart attack today.

I heard that he was filming a segment for a show and just slumped over.  The production staff attempted CPR until the ambulance arrived.  He had just had his yearly checkup a couple months ago, and other than enjoying a big plate of Pasta of Tesora's (on Conn. Ave - where I had the pleasure of meeting him once), he was relatively healthy.  Sad, sad day.

Apparently he flew home from Italy to tape the show....I would not be surprised to find that he is a victim of deep vein thrombosis.

So very sad.
My heart goes out to his wife, son and father (how horrible to outlive your children).
So very very sad.
